Preston and Reed start school! K5 and Preschool

Preston and Reed start both school on August 25th. Preston started Kindergarten at Cherry Hills Village Elementary (K5) and
Reed started Preschool at First Plymouth. What an emotional day! It started at 7:15 at the bus stop where Preston climbed on the for the first time. Then we raced over to the school to take pictures of him getting off the bus and meeting his friends.

Preston getting off the bus where he meets his friends, David, Gunnar, Jack and Trey! Preston who is not a shy kid by any means clung to my leg and said "mommy, I think this school is too big". Preston is sitting with his new Teacher, Ms. Barcsh. Later, at 9:00 AM we raced over to First Plymouth where Reed started his first day. Reed was so excited. He said "Goodbye mommy! I am at school now"... Reed is sitting next to his Preschool teacher, Ms. Tye.

Preston came home on cloud nine! He went on and on about how much school was!

Jason and Megan marry on August 23rd

Jason and Megan have a wonderful wedding in Vail where the boys were both ring bearers. It was a perfect evening. Reed screamed the whole way down the isle because he caught my eye just before I walked down. When he approached the end he ran up to me still crying and said "mommy!". Poor little thing. Afterwards he wanted to do it again!

Ed gave an amazing toast to the happy new couple reminding them that everyone in the room represented a "thread" to their success in marriage.
Mom and her three sisters enjoyed seeing one another.

Guernsey Lake with the Toney's and the Digby's

The weekend of August 16th we headed for Guernsey lake in the rain! We lived large as we
enjoyed the Digby Bus where we got to watch the Olympics! Preston fished and all the kids played soccer.

Buckhorn Exchange

Daddy is back home and off to Buckhorn Exchange - started in 1893. They even have pictures of our ancesters - The Blackfeet Indians on the wall! We are standing in front of a real old Calistoga wagon.

White Fence Farms

With Daddy gone, Grandma Bear and the boys and I traveled to White Fence Farms. We went for our first ride in a wagon pulled by a BIG Belgium horse. Reed was fascinated by the horse! Later we watched a pull scratch his head on the fence.

Preston actually picked up the camera and took this picture.

Littleton Museum

July 23rd we visited the Littleton Museum with Eli! The boys loved looking at the old house that was built in 1860. We also sat in an old school house and walked around the farm. Preston's favorite was watching the black smith make things with hot iron. Reed's favorite was the cows and Eli said he really loved the farm made out of hay.

Little Feet in the sheets!

Prestons feet are on the right and Reeds are on the left!

Preston got stung by a bee today for the first time! The bee got him on his left cheek. The funny part of this.... Reed got stung by two wasps last Thursday... one on his left cheek! Earlier this morning Reed looked in the mirror and said "Reed is soooo handsome! He looks just like a BIRD". Our silly little Goose.

Glendo Lake - July 18th

Boating time! We started our trip to Lake Guernsey and when we arrived there was no water! So we traveled on over to Glendo. Our camp buddies were Jim Roose, Leann Estey and the King family. We spent 9 hours on the boat! Preston was pulled on a knee board for the first time. He did great as he managed to go back and forth in the wake. Reed jumped into the middle of the lake by himself! Both boys drove the boat. Preston got a giant bug in his pants... poor thing.

After we dropped the boat off Reed said "Oh no! The boat is going to cry! Don't cry boat. It will be ok"

Preston's camp at Avid 4 Adventures

July 5th - Preston and Brandon Burgner attended a camp called Avid 4 Adventure. They mountain biked, hiked and their favorite part was spending the afternoon on a canoe at Cherry Creek Reservoir.

July 4th - Vail

We spent the long weekend in Vail. Friday we hosted a BBQ at the park with the Handler's, Roose's, Riley's, Thiret's, Tellinger's, Newman's and the Domich's! Fun in the sun with over 40 kids and adults. That night we watched a spectacular fire works show in Avon. It was Reeds first fireworks show. He said "Cool! Now Mom can we turn it off? Where is the remote to turn it off Mommy?" After the show finished he said "Are the fireworks sleeping?"

The next day the Handler family signed us up for a ride on the Firetruck through the Vail parade! Wow. What a great experience! Later we attended the Thiret's BBQ and played leap frog and Red Rover! Pictured above is Preston and Reed making me a flower arrangement!

June 29Th - Reed takes a spin on his first bicycle with training wheels! Preston upgrades to an 18 inch "Speed racer" bike. This morning Preston wanted to know what a grasshopper who lived in the sand box was called?

He finally said "it must be a sandhopper Mom!"

Guernsey Lake, Wyoming

Thank you Mateo for finding our new digs! We ended up going to Guernsey lake because Glendo was under water! We camped with the Tornambe family, the Davis family and the Hanselman family. We skied, chased frogs and made smores by the fire. The boys loved the water. Reed kept asking "Is the moter awake?" He loved the moter on the boat.

Rita and Ed in Rome, Italy

June 8th through the 15th Ed spend the week in Rome being "super son" as he took his Mom to Italy for the trip of a life time. They managed to have services with the Pope and they were give some original mosaics from the Vatican!

Hilton Head Trip

On June 9Th, 2008 Reed, Preston and Mommy went on our first trip together to Hilton Head to see our good friends William and Melanie.

The flight was very long and the boys were great. We had only one scary moment as we were going through security. Reed decided to dart through the security line and luckily his brother rescued him as he dragged him back to Mom. Everyone in line was cracking up.

We spent a lot of time at the ocean digging in the sand and finding seashells. We even found a jelly fish and a dead sand shark!
